My Mom and I were driving home from Disney and randomly chatting. I told her that I felt like my generation is the last of an era.
I'm twenty-six, I'll be twenty-seven this year (I go back and forth between panicking that I'm growing old and need to start "living" and still believing I'm sososo young).
People around this age got the best of both worlds growing up. We had super awesome music, we knew what it was like to play outside and have to be in before dark. We had active imaginations and had to entertain ourselves and... enjoyed it. But we also knew about computers and how awesome they were. I have a Mom who grew up in the 70's so she had a pretty laid back approach to parenting.
There's an entire generation who will never know what that's like. Just like my Mom and her Mom grew up never knowing what technology was in their childhoods, there are children out there who will never know what it's like to have a lack of technology. But us? We're the special ones. We grew up on the edge; right before video games, cell phones, and the internet exploded into what it is today.
I'm not saying one is either bad or good. Well, I may be a little biased. But how crazy is that?!
