Fridays are made for sunshine pt. 2

OH. MY. GOD.  Ellie Goulding was nothing short of amazing. Last night I felt magical. Thank you, Stars. Thank you, Universe. Thank you, Ellie. Here's some positives from this week ...

  • Ellie Goulding (duh! You knew it was going to get mentioned again).
  • A woman who pulled me aside to tell me I had "swag" and compliment my style and the way I carried myself.
  • Mango margartitas (!!!).
  • Awesome hair days this week.
  • Long hot, life changing showers.
  • Sleeping in.
  • Blue and copper nails.
  • Not allowing a conversation to get me down and out.
  • The weather!!! We went from the 80s to the 60s. Love it!
Love love love is all I have.

Happy Hearts,

Alex

But stand still is all we did. Love like ours just never fits

Today was one of those days that I had to continuously remind myself that worrying was so last year. It doesn't get me anywhere. With worrying comes anxiety and before I know it, I've wasted a bunch of time. I don't have time to waste! No one does.

I also felt myself slipping into the past. Why don't I talk to this person? Why can't we be friends? Can we get it right this time? Oh, nostalgia. You hit me hard. Then I get annoyed that I sound like a broken record. Let go, Alex. You were almost there. I am there. I think sometimes I just like to reminisce which gets me thinking, you know?

On to the happy! Thursday I'm seeing Ellie Goulding and it makes me want to jump up and down and squeal like I'm fifteen. I may or may not have her on loop this week. I haven't been this stoked to go to a show since I went to see Robyn or Tegan and Sara. All independent, rockstar girls-- love them!

My plan was to just kind of free write tonight, but I don't think I have much else coming to my mind.

So we'll end with a Tegan and Sara song. Naturally, I'm in love; they can do no wrong. I may or may not have been listening to it non-stop along with Ellie.

She gives them butterflies, bats her cartoon eyes.

Well, Ladies and Gents. I feel like I'm getting my funky flare back! I realized a while a go I was in some sort of haze. It was almost like every day that I woke up I was in some kind of foggy state of mind. This is not abnormal for me. I've suffered from "the blues" ever since I was a little girl. Yes, that scary word... depression. It comes and goes.

This was one of my longer bouts. But the fog has lifted. I've decided to make more of a conscious effort to keep myself engaged, focus, and always in the moment. Not drifting off to those negative, pessimistic, anxious thoughts that can send me into a downward spiral. Especially before bed.

Anyone else get like this?

When it's run it's course, it's seriously like "waking up". You have more energy, you're beaming with joy, everything sounds wonderful.

This isn't to say I wasn't happy before. I was. I am most of the time. I'm known to be "upbeat" and "bubbly". But something felt "off". I have my Father's genetics to thank for that one.

Anyway. I'm awake. I'm happy. I'm grateful. I'm all your's, World. Let's go. :)

Happy Hearts,

Alex
